Mariah Carey and her husband Nick Cannon are on their way to splitsville after being married for six years, multiple sites have reported.

The celebrity couple who raised eyebrows when they wed in 2008 despite their 12-year age difference is already living separately after months of never-ending arguments and fights, In Touch magazine reported.

According to the magazine's source, the two hate each other so much that 33-year-old presenter is forced to stay at the Tribeca Grand Hotel while his singer wife divides her time between a friend's house and another New York City hotel.

"They can't have a simple conversation without it devolving into snide digs," the insider told the publication. "They're not living together because they can't stand each other."

Cannon, 33, and Carey, 44, reportedly have been feuding over everything, from the songstress' diva attitude to raising their 3-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan. The source even added that the father of two is fed up of his wife mistreating him.

"Nick loathes that Mariah treats him like her servant," the insider revealed. "She gives him a chore list and barks orders at him."

One incident that reportedly hinted trouble in paradise was in late June when In Touch asked Cannon whether he and Carey were separating, to which he replied with a terse "no comment," and instead said that his kids are his priorities "before everything" else.

It is also worth noting that the pair who were usually active in social media, have not been photographed together in months, and Carey hasn't even featured her husband on her posts since June. By July, they put their $13 million Bel Air mansion up for sale.

So are they preparing for an imminent break up?

Rumors that the two were set to officially announce their split and that Cannon had been staying at his grandparent's place during the course of a trial separation spread like wild fire this week, Page Six has learned.

Another insider also revealed that Carey had already met with divorce lawyers, but Cannon refused to "go down without a fight" and wants to get a big part of his wife's $500 million fortune.
