Mariah Carey was hospitalized on Sunday night after she dislocated her shoulder on the New York set of her new music video. The 43-year-old singer was rushed to New York's Hospital for Special Surgery on the Upper East Side.

According to the New York Post, the singer was hurt while filming the music video for the remix of her song "#Beautiful."

Carey's spokeswoman Cindi Berger said, "Mariah was injured while filming a video for the remix of '#Beautiful,' directed by her husband Nick Cannon.

"She was taken to hospital late last night, where doctors reset her shoulder. She is fine and is recovering at home."

The song, which the lead single off of her upcoming album "The Art of Letting Go" was filmed in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan at Avenue and Artichoke Pizza.

A source told the NY Post that the singer may have tripped and fallen due to her signature sky high heels.

According to the Daily Mail, the accident was kept quiet and there was no ambulance were called to the scene. It was said that Carey usually has her private medical personnel on site in case any thing ever goes wrong.

A source who worked with singer told the New York Daily News that there was no surprise that the singer tried to keep the tumble quiet.

The source said, "At a certain age when you're over 40, any kind of injury is like saying rigor mortis has set in."

"Mariah wants to always be young and fabulous and fit. She doesn't want you saying she eats Activia."

Although she is injured she will still be performing at the free concert in Central Park's Great Lawn on July 13th.

The concert is with the Major League Baseball to benefit Hurricane Sandy Relief.

A source told the NY Post, "She will perform, but it is likely she will have her arm in a sling."
