"The Vampire Diaries" star, Zach Roerig has won a 2013 custody battle against his convict ex-girlfriend. With the court's help, the actor is continuing to take care of his 2-year-old daughter.
According to TMZ, Roerig, 28, was finally awarded sole custody in Georgia last month after fighting with his ex, who is currently in jail.
A judge signed off on allowing Kat Graham, Nina Dobrev, Candace Accola and Ian Somerhalder's co-star to make all future decisions for his little girl.
Court documents showed that the star was seeking child support from his former flame in July, but had since changed his mind. He instead settled for custody.
Roerig must have decided that the $30,000 that he makes a month on the CW show was enough to take care of his child, TMZ reported.
In shocking news, the celebrity news site reported that the actor, who plays All-American good guy, Matt Donovan on the popular TV series, had a secret love child. Her mother and Roerig's ex, Alanna Turner is currently incarcerated in a federal prison.
With the world and many VD fans unaware that Roerig was a father, the news was more jaw-dropping than an actual episode of his popular show. Many fans were looking for an answer, but the actor's rep has not responded to calls from TMZin July, they said.
Roerig wanted to change the custody arrangement given Turner's heavy rap sheet. His ex was arrested at least three times, and is behind bars after having plead guilty to "various crimes" in federal court.
