Reportedly, "The Vampire Diaries" star, Zach Roerig is fighting for custody of his young child, who had remained a secret until now.

In shocking news, TMZ reported that the 28-year-old actor, who plays All-American good guy, Matt Donovan on the CW series, has a two-year-old daughter. Her mother, Alanna Turner is currently incarcerated in a federal prison, and Roerig is seeking sole custody, according to court documents filed in a Georgia court last month.

With the world and many VD fans unaware that Roerig was a father, this is more jaw-dropping than an actual episode of his popular show. Many people are looking for an answer, but the actor's rep has not responded to calls from TMZ, they said.

At this point, Roerig wants to change the custody arrangement given Turner's heavy rap sheet. His ex was arrested at least three times, and is behind bars after having plead guilty to "various crimes" in federal court, according to TMZ.

The actor is also seeking child support,supposedly, for the little girl, whose name is unknown right now.

It is also unknown when Roerig and Turner got together or parted ways, according to US Weekly.

Last May, the magazine broke news that Roerig had split from his VD co-star, Candice Accola, who is now engaged to Joseph King, guitarist for the band, The Fray. The former item and co-stars had secretly dated and had a "low-key" romance.
