Selenators were enraged of late when Stefano Gabbana, founder of Dolce & Gabbana, seemed to have insulted their idol, Selena Gomez, on social media.

The acclaimed and controversial Italian designer received throngs of backlash after being vocal about his not being a fan of the "Wolves" singer on Instagram. He did not mince his words, albeit written in Italian, in commenting in one collage of Gomez's red dresses posted by The Catwalk Italia.

"È proprio brutta!!!" Gabbana wrote, which translates to "She's so ugly."

It is hard to give context in what the designer said. It could mean that he found her ugly in the sense that it was because of what she wore or that she is downright not fitting to his beauty standards. Where his hate comment is stemming is still unknown as of now, and Gomez has remained mum on social media as of writing.

In Defense Of Selena Gomez

But of course, Gomez's fans had her back and fought in defense of her. Some called out Gabbana for what was obviously bullying. As a response, the 55-year-old seemed to just laugh it off in the comment section of the post.

Other Selenators described Gabbana's move as "distasteful," and another user pointed out that the designer is disgracing the infamous brand. Another one seemed to have taken the controversial man's comment as a signal to stop patronizing the brand and even said it's time to throw away some clothes.

Gabbana's disgusting comment gained backlash as well from famous celebrities who showed support for Gomez. Tommy Dorfman, who played Ryan Shaver in Netflix's 13 Reasons Why, slammed the designer and said that his "homophobic, misogynistic, body-shaming existence" will not survive nowadays.

Julia Michaels, a known close friend of Gomez, assured the former Disney child star how she's beautiful on the inside and out. Other Selenators also expressed their support for the "Back To You" singer as well amid this Gabbana controversy.

While fans have found their way to Gabbana's Instagram to attack him through the comment section, some revealed they were blocked by the designer. Some insulted him and his designs, while some called him names.

History Of Disgracing

After Gabbana's "hahahahaha" response to hate comments thrown at him only made everyone even more disgusted at how he seemingly doesn't care being called out for his words against Gomez, he might not be surprised. After all, this wasn't the first time he did this to a celebrity.

Last year, Gabbana body-shamed Lady Gaga when he posted a zoomed-in photo of her tummy her during her Super Bowl performance. Of course, he received backlash for what he did and later on said sorry.
