Sean Hayes is engaged!

The 44-year-old actor, best known for his role as Jack McFarland on the NBC sitcom "Will & Grace," is set to wed his longtime partner, composer and music producer Scott Icenogle.

"Sean Hayes and Scott Icenogle have been together for eight years. They are not yet married but they have been engaged for quite some time," a rep for the actor told RumorFix.

Hayes' spokesperson was asked by the website about his relationship status after the Primetime Emmy-winning actor was seen wearing a gold band on his ring finger when he appeared as a co-panelist and a guest on CBS' "The Talk" Monday. He was also spotted sporting the same ring on Friday's "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," but never addressed the ring on both occasions.

Hayes has always been notoriously private about his personal life, and he has a good reason why.

"When I play a gay character I want to be as believable as possible. And when I'm playing a straight character I also want to be as believable as possible. So the less that people know about my personal life, the more believable I can be as a character," the "Monsters University" voice actor told The Advocate in 2010.

In the same interview, Hayes publicly came out as gay, stating: "Really? You're gonna shoot the gay guy down? I never have had a problem saying who I am. I am who I am."

He also indicated at that time that he was in a relationship, and said that he feels like he has "contributed monumentally to the success of the gay movement in America."

Though there have been very few details about Hayes and Icenogle's romance, it seems that the "Sean Saves the World" actor is very happy not only about his love life, but how he is currently doing in general.

"Once 'Will & Grace' ended and he wasn't in the public eye all the time, and we were just producing-and then when he went to Broadway on top of it-he did seem like he relaxed a lot more," Hayes' producing partner Todd Milliner told USA Today last October of the Golden Globe-nominated actor. "Not just about his personal life, just about everything. He seems like he's a lot happier."
