Sara Gilbert really knows how to make a good excuse to skip something she's afraid of doing, but turns out the excuse was more than valid for her to ditch a possibly tricky challenge that's risky not just for her but also to the developing baby inside her womb.

On Tuesday, 'The Talk' co-host was asked by her fellow hosts to do the "Face Your Fears" challenge of the week on their CBS show, and for Perry it was supposed to be a cinderblock being broken on her stomach, Us Weekly has learned.

However,  it appears that the "Roseanne" alum has one good reason why she just can't do the dare even if she wanted to.

"Before we go I just want to say I'm actually not going to do the dare," she said. "I was scared to do it and I really believe in facing your fears," she continued, "but I actually can't do the dare because I'm pregnant."

Upon her candid revelation, Julie Chen, Aisha Tyler, Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood and everyone at the studio began exclaiming over the good news.

Gilbert even admitted that she's "really tired" in the earlier stages of her pregnancy, but she has now adjusted. "I feel good, I feel really good!" she quipped, according to E! News.

On Twitter, the official account of Gilbert's talk show, "The Talk on CBS" dropped the news to the actress-host's fans, saying, "BIG BABY NEWS! Sending congratulations & love to @THEsaragilbert!!!! #TheTalk."

Chen, Osbourne and Underwood were among the first to congratulate Gilbert of her baby news on social media, noted CBS News.

It can be noted that the 39-year-old "Poison Ivy" star and rock songwriter-producer Linda Perry, 49, exchanged their wedding vows back in March, with all of Gilbert's "The Talk" colleagues and actress Juliette Lewis in attendance during the private ceremony.

Prior to their wedding, Gilbert reportedly gushed about her then girlfriend's memorably sweet proposal during their daytime talk show.

"I'm sitting there listening and I'm kind of daydreaming and I'm thinking like, 'If I ever proposed to her this would be an amazing way to do it,'" she said of Perry's proposal, which happened in April 2013.

"The people picnicking next to us pull out string instruments from under the blanket, walk over and they start playing [The Cure's] 'Lovesong,'" she added.

Gilbert came out as gay in 2010. She previously shared a long-term romance with Alison Adler, whom she shares son Levi, 9, and daughter Sawyer, 7, with.
