Did Kylie Cosmetics Just Rip Off Anastasia Beverly Hills?

Kylie Cosmetics has been creating a buzz of late, and it's not for a good reason. People are accusing Kylie Jenner's makeup brand of copying Anastasia Beverly Hills.

To be specific, people are taking a shot at Kylie Cosmetics' newly announced Sorta Sweet Palette, which has nine pans of pigmented eyeshadows. Along with this one are three new liquid lipsticks, dubbed as the Sorta Sweet Lip Trio, all will be released on June 28.

The makeup maven herself announced the newest creations of her eponymous brand, Kylie Cosmetics, through social media. On June 19, Jenner revealed the Sorta Sweet Palette that comes in a black packaging will be released at a later date. While some people revel at the thought of a new beauty product from the reality star's makeup brand, there are some who can't help but make a comparison and saying this is a rip off.

Comparison

People started noticing that the Sorta Sweet Palette has a striking resemblance to Anastasia Beverly Hills' Soft Glam Palette, which has 14 shades. It sells for $49, while Kylie Cosmetics' will probably sell for $42.

Fans took a jab at how the shades seemed to be the same, although of course, Anastasia's Soft Glam has five more shades than Kylie Cosmetics' Sorta Sweet Palette. However, many have remained loud in noticing the similarities between the two beauty products, with some saying Jenner's brand may just be a rip off.

"Idk about you guys but I'm an avid makeup fan and I also don't know if it's just me but Kylie's new palette is literally a copy of the soft glam palette," @eliosholland tweeted.

@em_ilybabe, meanwhile, described the newest creation of Kylie Cosmetics as the "lesser version" of Anastasia Beverly Hills' Soft Glam and slammed the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star for offering unoriginal ideas. So much hate about the new product has been echoed in the internet, and while this may be what is resounding, there are also those that took defense of the social media superstar.

@AjBMediaService slammed the naysayers and asked them to stop with the comparisons. She further suggested people who are not a fan of Kylie Cosmetics' new product and are saying it is a rip off to not buy the item and move on. Also, there are those who seemed to have gone beyond the comparison and aired an observation.

One Twitter user, @Zaibyx, pointed out how Kylie Cosmetics, Huda Beauty, and Anastasia Beverly Hills have the same shades in their palettes. While this is the case, many women still opt to spend money on these products that are "the same thing with a different logo."
