Plenty of celebrities have dated and split but unfortunately since they are in the entertainment industry they attend the same events and have a high likelihood o run into each other which makes for an awkward encounter and unwanted reunion.

Fortunately enough for Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, they will not have to deal with a face to face encounter while at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, which kicks off this Thursday.

According to E! News, although both stars are set to attend to promote their respective films, it has been revealed that the exes "won't be there at the same time."

Pattinson, 27, has two movies premiering at Cannes this year, "The Rover" with a May 18th debut and "Maps to the Stars," with a May 19th debut date.

Meanwhile his ex-girlfriend, Stewart, 24, stars in "Clouds of Sils Maria," which is set for a May 23rd premiere.

Although some stars tend to arrive ahead of schedule, fans should not expect the "On the Road" actress to catch an early flight. The starlet will be too busy shooting "American Ultra."

Apparently if the "Twilight" stars did come face to face there is a likely chance that it would result in a huge blow out.

Last fall a source told the celebrity news site that the costars had "lots of animosity [between them] after the split," but have since "moved on and gradually gotten over it."

Despite moving on from the failed relationship Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson "are cordial now."

However, friends of the actors "honestly believe they will not get back together."
