Right after Kristen Stewart addressed her failed romance with Robert Pattinson in Marie Claire, new reports are claiming that her "Snow White and the Huntsman" director, Rupert Sanders is "still hoping for a future" with the "On the Road" star following their affair that subsequently end his marriage.

According to Hollywood Life, after news broke that Stewart, 23 cheated on her long-time boyfriend with Sanders, 42, the director's wife, English model Liberty Ross, stood by him for some time before filing for divorce early in 2013.

Since the split a source admitted that he and "Twilight" star are still in contact.

The insider revealed, "[Rupert] fell in love with [Kristen] a long time before he laid a finger on her, and he's finding it difficult to shake."

Not only is he finding it hard to get over Kristen Stewart but apparently he is having trouble landing a feature-film directing role and has been "laying low," directing commercials.

Even though his career is down in the dumps a source confessed that "against all better judgment, [Rupert] still holds out hope that he and Kristen can get things going again, but he's completely deluded - she would never put her career on the line like that again."
