It looks like Ian Somerhalder may miss dating former girlfriend and costar Nina Dobrev. The CW hunk recently took to his Twitter account to reminisce about the old days when he and the gorgeous actress were still together.

"The Vampire Diaries" star tweeted about how things were so different just one year ago when he was in a happy relationship with the 25-year-old.

He wrote, "This time last year I was 9thRow 20yd line(thanks @ninadobrev ) sittin with my pop at the SUPER DOME-Its so much quieter in my bedroom..."

Even though Ian Somerhalder, 35, and Nina Dobrev decided to split the actress revealed in an interview that she still loves her ex-boyfriend.

The two even shared a sweet kiss on the cheek while onstage when they won the award for Best On Screen Chemistry at the People's Choice Awards last month.

Dobrev who plays Elena Gilbert on the show explained the kiss, which just happened to be her idea. She said, "It's just honest. All it was was just honest. You call a spade a spade. I was trying to figure out, like what do you say in that situation?

"We were like, well, we're cool, we're friends and co-stars. He's a great person, I'm a great person... I mean, I think I'm pretty awesome. So it doesn't need to be awkward and I think everyone expected it to be so awkward. We made fun of ourselves and just had fun."

The actress confessed that despite the break up she still has a tremendous amount of respect for Somerhalder.

She admitted, "If you're with someone for that long, there's obviously the qualities in them that you enjoy and that doesn't change just because you're not together anymore.

"I have an enormous amount of respect and love for him and everyone," adding, "That doesn't change, it shouldn't, otherwise why were you with them?"

However, fans shouldn't expect the couple to get back together anytime soon.
Nina Dobrev reportedly told German magazine Joy "I definitely don't need anyone to make me happy. I can do that all by myself."
