We are just hours away from "Scandal" season 3 episode 8, "Vermont is for Lovers, Too" and new cast member Khandi Alexander who plays Olivia Pope's mother Maya has dished out some juicy spoilers about what's coming up for the mother/daughter pair.
Last week we found out Liv's mom is very much alive and the actress revealed that Maya is "very, very angry with Eli," according to TVLine.
Apparently she has been imprisoned by B613 for quite sometime and is now in a "murderous" mindset.
That actress hinted that "We will learn more about Maya's past," which the spoiler site assumes will be through more flashbacks.
The presence of Olivia's mother is set to add "more pieces to the Remington puzzle." For some reason Maya was pulled off of Flight 522 just before it departed and was shot down by President Fitz who at the time was just a Navy officer.
Now that we know she is alive Khandi Alexander insists that "We're going to learn more about Olivia's relationship with her mother, and what's happened in the past."
However, we may find that Olivia had the a strong relationship with Maya as Alexander stated, "Very few mothers don't love their daughters."
Off screen the actress admits to caring for her costar as well. She explained, "Kerry and I met years ago at Sundance, at an actors' lab," adding, "so we have this mutual respect for each other that made it very easy to fall into a relationship."
She also met the star's family, "Her parents, I adore them. You can see how they raised such a wonderful young lady."
She added, "It's easy to love Kerry Washington."
