Even though "Glee" star Lea Michele has put on a brave face following the death of her costar and real life boyfriend Cory Monteith the actress continues to reflect on the difficult time in her life and how one of her A-list friends helped her through it.

According to Us Weekly, in the December issue of ELLE the Bronx, New York native revealed that Kate Hudson was one of the first people she called after hearing of the Canadian actor's tragic death.

Lea Michele told the magazine, "I called her and said, I don't know where I'm going to go because my house is swarmed [with reporters]," adding, "She was like, 'Oh, you're going to stay at my house.' Like it was nothing."

The 27-year-old actress admitted that her 34-year-old guest costar also opened up her home to not only herself but to her extended family as well.

The singer said, "She let my family stay there, and any of my friends. She made sure that in the refrigerator were my favorite juices," adding, "I'll never really be able to thank her, truly, for what she did for me."

Cory Monteith died on July 13th at the age of 31 from a "mixed drug toxicity" consisting of heroin and alcohol. Reflecting on his death Michele admitted, "Now that I'm in this position, you can choose to rise, which is what I'm going to try to do."

She went on to say, "It's very hard and you have to be very strong to come out of this alive, but I think by doing the best for myself, by showing that you don't have to lose yourself, maybe someone else will feel some sort of strength or comfort."

The actress who plays Rachel Berry on the Fox hit series added, "I know that Cory would want nothing more than for me to take this situation and use it to help people. I don't know if I will. I don't know how."

Lea Michele and Cory Monteith confirmed they were dating in early 2012, however, during her interview with ELLE the actress confessed that the two briefly dated at the beginning of "Glee" but "no one really caught on" at the time.

Finally years later the couple made it official. Looking back the actress recalled her and her boyfriend asking themselves, "'You wanna do this?'"

Answering her own question she said, "We knew."
