Did you miss "Scandal" season 3 episode 3, "Mrs. Smith Goes to Washington" on Thursday night? Well if so we have a recap of all the drama that took place from your favorite Washington big shots.
We return to find Jake in Olivia's bed shirtless and sleeping while she sits on the floor in awe of just how is it impossible that he is alive and in her house nonetheless. But she is soon forced to snap out of it as she is needed in the office amongst her fellow gladiators.
Liv heads to the office to find Mary, her son Chris Lawrence was killed but the FBI and she wants to know why, but before they can get acquainted Mary runs off to make her "meeting" on Capitol Hill.
Wary of her client Liv tells her team to dig into Mary's background only to find out that she has emptied her bank account leaving only the amount of money for Olivia's check.
Meanwhile Huck is taking a personal day to stalk Olivia's father with the intent to kill him but has no such luck seeing as papa Pope is the master of manipulation.
Digging deeper into Mary's past Liv follows her to the Capitol only to find that Mary has a bomb strapped to her chest ready to blow up a senator if he doesn't let her see her son's file.
There was also a man looking to talk to President Fitz about Operation Remington but the security got to him before he could make his way into the Oval Office.
Olivia and her gut are forced to negotiate with the FBI in order to get Chris' file declassified which eventually leads her to Fitz revealing the truth.
He tells her that Mary cannot know the truth, which is that her son was a hero who infiltrated al Qaeda cells for the CIA, telling Mary this would expose Chris's 57 recruits whose lives along with their families would be at imminent risk.
Olivia is torn but decides to tell Mary that her son was a terrorist to which Mary breaks down and cries, she lets her hostages go but walks out behind Olivia. She then pushes Olivia through the door slams it shut and blows the bomb up.
With everyone safe Mellie gets drunk and celebrates Olivia being alive and tells Fitz that not only is Liv his flaw but "She's the puppet strings that, if need be, I will pull to make my puppet husband dance."
In the end Olivia realizes they are all puppets and her father is the one pulling the strings.
"Scandal" season 3 airs on ABC on Thursdays at 10 p.m.
