If we you missed the "Scandal" season 3 premiere on Thursday night not only do we have a recap for you but we have a promo for next week, episode 2 on hand.
In episode 1, "It's Handled," we see Olivia dodging the press and her father convincing her to board a plane and disappear promising that her business will continue and her friends will be taken care of financially.
Olivia agrees and while sitting on the runway she gives Cyrus a call in which he begs her not to leave because Fitz will never trust him because he will think he had Olivia killed.
She agrees and attempts to assimilate back into life only to realize all of her clients have fired her due to her reputation as the president's mistress.
In an effort to get both her and Fitz's life back she devises this crazy plan in which they tell the truth, well a version of the truth.
A truth that Olivia, Fitz and Mellie collectively decide the public should hear. The three agree on the story that Olivia and Fitz only slept together twice, once after the inauguration, and again after Fitz's assassination attempt.
Meanwhile Olivia's team of Gladiators (Harrison, Quinn, Huck and Abby) were busy trying to fix their boss' national mess.
Instead of letting Olivia take the fall they gave a disc to Cyrus that placed the blame on a White House aide.
Which would explain why in the promo Liv busted into the room and said, "What did you do?"
But the biggest reveal was what we been waiting for, who leaked Olivia Pope's name to the press. It was none other than... President Fitzgerald Grant!
During a heated conversation between Fitz and Mellie, she told him that she knew he leaked Olivia's name via the secret service. The guards gave Olivia's name to a journalist at local bar.
The final twist is that Cyrus finds out what really happened with Fitz and Jake during their time in Iran, but of course the hour was up and we were given the promo to next week's episode 2 "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?"
