"The Vampire Diaries" season 5 premiere is days away and cast additions have been revealed along with episode 1 spoilers.

Former "True Blood" star Janina Gavankar will be joining our favorite vampires on the upcoming season. The actress' character will be having some serious face time with Silas, who is now Stefan's (Paul Welsey) doppelganger.

Gavankar's character was killed off on "True Blood" and it looks like the actress is content with playing supernatural characters.

Now that Elena has transitioned into college life, she will have a whole new set of problems, such as trying to stay awake in class, as well as and staying alive, according to Hollywood Life.

New pictures from the October 17th episode have surfaced showing Elena in trouble with another vampire named Nadia (Olga Fonda). Nadia will be introduced to fans in the season 5 premiere.

In the photos, Nadia can be seen with a gun and it seems like her target may be Elena. However, it is unclear whether this showdown will take place in Mystic Falls or at Whitmore College.

As for juicy episode 1 spoilers, The Hollywood Gossip saw an advanced copy of "The Vampire Diaries" season 5 premiere and spilled that there will be a three-month time jump, meaning the episode will kick off on Elena's first day of school.

We will also see a character engage in a threesome within the episode's first 90 seconds, followed by someone falling off a roof.

Two people get into a car accident and one of the recurring characters will get killed.
