The "Glee" Season 5 premiere date is quickly approaching, and even though fans are still mourning the loss of Cory Monteith, who played lovable jock Finn Hudson, gleeks are happy to see their favorite show return to the small screen.
In the new season, 5 promo it is revealed that episode one will pay homage to The Beatles. The 30-second clip shows your McKinley High School favorites belting out classic songs from the epic band.
Set to the song "All You Need Is Love," Lea Michele and Chris Colfer can be seen gracing the screen with big smiles as the actors' characters rejoice as they are reunited again.
There will also be major changes at the high school as we see scheming cheerios coach Sue Sylvester return to the show as the principal while Principal Figgins is demoted to janitor.
Meanwhile, the teaser clip does not feature Cory Monteith, who was Michele's real life boyfriend and who died on July 13th from a fatal mix of alcohol and heroin. Monteith's character is set to be written off the show, with the third episode of season 5 paying tribute to the fallen star.
According to the Daily Mail, in the beginning of the third episode, the characters of "Glee" will be told about Finn's death, it will then follow them individually as they grieve over the loss of their friend.
In a Deadline interview on August 15th, "Glee" co-creator Ryan Murphy spoke about the special tribute episode planned for Cory Monteith, whose body was found in his Vancouver hotel room after Monteith missed his check out time.
Murphy said, "There were a lot of things that we had to decide [for the memorial episode]."
He went on to explain, "At one point, we were going to have his character die after an accidental drug overdose -- that was something we had considered. But we have decided that we're not going to have him pass from that."
"Glee" returns to Fox on Thursday September 26th, will you be watching?
