Following the death of Cory Monteith, "Glee" season 5 is going with an upbeat theme for their FOX hit show's upcoming premiere after dealing with the tragic loss of one of its cast members.
The show released its first promo for the fifth season airing in September and even though it was revealed that in "Glee" season 5 episode 3, Monteith's death would be addressed, the actor was noticibly absent from the clip.
Monteith, who died at age 31 from a fatal mix of alcohol and heroin played fan favorite character Finn Hudson.
In a Deadline interview on Thursday, August 15th "Glee" co-creator Ryan Murphy spoke about the special tribute episode planned for Cory Monteith, whose body was found in his Vancouver hotel room on July 13th.
Murphy said, "There were a lot of things that we had to decide [for the memorial episode]."
He went on to explain that "At one point, we were going to have his character die after an accidental drug overdose -- that was something we had considered. But we have decided that we're not going to have him pass from that."
In the teaser clip Monteith's character Finn Hudson is nowhere to be found instead you can catch old clips of other cast members including a sexy shot of the late actor's girlfriend, Lea Michele, according to Us Weekly.
"Once again with feeling," the promo read. "Once again with drama. Once again with passion. Are you ready to go . . . once again?"
Returning back to the set has not been easy for Monteith's former co-stars, Murphy revealed that, "There's been tears on set. It's been hard for a lot of people. But the really difficult thing is coming. We start shooting the memorial episode this week.
"We're just now finishing it, and at the end of the week we'll send it to [the studio 20th Century Fox Television] to get their approvals."
"Glee" season 5 will premiere on FOX on Thursday, September 26th at 9:00 p.m.
