The mermaid trend is not yet over but is actually going stronger in the cosmetics industry. The latest to launch a mermaid-inspired collection is Rodin Olio Lusso.

Mythical creatures such as unicorns and mermaids are a thing nowadays, from food to clothes to makeups. Much like most kids at heart, the brand's founder, Linda Rodin, is a dreamer who once thought that she was a mermaid, or was in her past life.

That may explain the Rodin Olio Lusso's newest Mermaid Collection that gives life to the beautiful creatures from deep within. The founder, who is coincidentally a Pisces, has a very rich fantasy, which may have prompted artist Donald Roberston, also the creative director for Estee Lauder, to design a mermaid collection.

"A beautiful collaboration of great new products inspired by the magical things we find in the murky depths" is how Robertson described the Mermaid Collection.

Five Items From The Mermaid Collection

To summarize the Rodin Olio Lusso Mermaid Collection, all the five beauty products promise to give radiance and glow to those who want to feel like the wonderful being. Of course, all these come in packaging designed with seashells, star fish, kelp, and a seahorse to seal the overall under-the-sea vibe. These, meanwhile, come in colorful boxes that were drawn with mermaids and they're magical, to say the least.

The first one from the line is the Luxury Glow Body Oil that leaves a smooth skin. Not like any other body oil in the market, Rodin Olio Lusso boasts a lightweight feel after applying the pleasantly smelling product that will also give off a barely-there, natural-looking glow.

The second, the Luxury Illuminating Liquid, will give an extra shine thanks to the right blend of "micro-fine light-reflecting optics." This Mermaid Collection product is described as weightless and can be used with foundation and moisturizer just to add a dab of gloss.

The third and fourth ones are the perfect combination. The Luxury Illuminating Powder, obviously from the name, gives off a powder, clean, glowy finish. Surprisingly, it comes in just one shade, Siren, that was claimed to suit all skin tones.

Of course, the powder needs to be spread with a brush, and that's what the Rodin Luxury Kabuki Brush is for. This will greatly help in blending at a maximum coverage.

The last one from the Rodin Olio Lusso Mermaid Collection is the Luxury Lip Oil. It has a nude shimmery shade that again, was promised to flatter anyone's skin tone. This can be used as a second ply to another lip product.
