Jennifer Lopez has seen better days. Just after splitting from boyfriend Casper Smart, the singer cancelled her plans to sing at Thursday's World Cup opening ceremony. Fans were looking forward to seeing her sing alongside Pitbull and Brazilian pop star Claudia Leitte. She would have performed the official song "We Are One (Ole Ola)."

FIFA officials say the sudden cancellation is "due to unspecified production issues."

"We can confirm the accuracy of FIFA's statement," a rep for the songstress told PEOPLE. "Regretfully [she] will not be attending this year's World Cup opening ceremonies."

The opening event will take place in Sao Paolo, where Pitbull and Leitte will perform as a duo for the finale. We are sure they will be missing her!

"I'm honored to join Jennifer Lopez and Claudia Leitte at the FIFA World Cup to bring the world together," Pitbull said when the song was released. "I truly believe that this great game and the power of music will help unify us, because we are best when we are one."

Artistic Director Daphne Cornez says the act "is a tribute to Brazil and its treasures: nature, people, football."

Lopez's absence does not stem from her split from Casper Smart, who she dated for two and a half years after splitting from husband Marc Anthony.

"They initially split about six weeks ago, but that can take a little time to extricate. But they've definitely broken up," a source told PEOPLE. "The relationship had just run its course."

They added, "Jennifer is actually doing really well and working hard."

Other reports claimed Smart was exchanging pictures and sexy messages with transsexual model Sofie Vissa. He took to Instagram to blast these rumors, calling them nasty.

"(It's) sad what the media does to people...Along with this nasty story. Thanks. Could you imagine if people came at you, your wife, your kids daily," the dancer wrote.

We hope Lopez is doing okay! Do you agree? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
