Sunday would have marked the 32nd birthday of the late Cory Monteith, and Lea Michele took to twitter to share a heartwarming tribute with fans.

"The biggest heart and most beautiful smile.. In all of our hearts.. We love you so. Happy Birthday," she captioned a black and white photo of them laughing.

Michele was Monteith's girlfriend and "Glee" co-star, where the pair play a couple. He was found dead last July in a hotel in Vancouver after an overdose of alcohol and heroin.

The actress has opened up in recent months about losing her boyfriend, and how she copes.

"We talked about a lot of things. We talked about children and what we would look like when we grew old and who would be fat and how we would stay thin," she told Glamour U.K. in April. "We talked about where we wanted to go and what we wanted to do."

"I only have happy memories of Cory. He was not his addiction -- unfortunately, it won," she said to Seventeen magazine. "But that wasn't who he was. Cory made me feel like a queen every day. From the minute he said, 'I'm your boyfriend,' I loved every day, and I thank him for being the best boyfriend and making me feel so beautiful.

Monteith's mother Ann McGregor tweeted a message as well, writing, "maybe it is a blessing that Cory's birthday is on Mother's Day."

The "Glee" cast dedicated an episode to Monteith's character, Finn Hudson, as tribute to his life entitled "The Quarterback." It showed how his friends and teachers dealt with his loss, without announcing how he died.

He was also a great influence on Michele's first album, "Louder."
