Is Ian Somerhalder quitting "The Vampires Diaries" because of a cast member? Well, apparently the actor came pretty close however, it wasn't over ex-girlfriend Nina Dobrev.

During a chat with E! News the star revealed that the end is near for his character, Damon.

The hot CW star said, "When Damon dies, it is the dopest scene."

Somerhalder explained that his former love Nina Dobrev's character will be involved in the scene.

He confessed, "The ending, I think, is really gonna throw people. It definitely involves Damon in a very cool way. There is some very very cool stuff with Damon, Elena, Bonnie...stuff you just didn't see...It is definitely a cliffhanger."

Something else you won't see is the actor showing off a new girlfriend as he recently revealed he is single.

He told the celebrity news site, "There is no dating. I am solo as solo can get. I can't imagine dating in Hollywood. I'm a serial monogamist, man," adding, "Dating in Hollywood's gotta be gnarly."

According to Entertainment Wise, "The Vampire Diaries" season 4 executive producer Caroline Dries recently revealed that Ian Somerhalder had threatened to quit the show at one point.

Last week's episode featured Enzo accusing Stefan (Paul Wesley) of killing the love of his life however, Enzo found out that it was actually Damon who killed her.

Now that Enzo knows the truth he in turn switched off his humanity.

Dries revealed a spoiler and admitted that despite the events that have happened with Enzo, the character isn't going anywhere.

She told The Hollywood Reporter, "Ian pulled me aside one day and he goes, 'If you kill Enzo, I'm going to quit'.

"We purposefully had him show up at the end as a ghost to imply that his story isn't over. He is going to become a ghost villain moving forward. We'll see him all the way through to the finale as the bad guy."
