It looks like actor Ian Somerhalder may have finally moved on from ex-girlfriend Nina Dobrev. The CW heartthrob was spotted out and about attending some events in Los Angeles on Wednesday alongside a female date that has been identified as Molly Swenson.

According to E! News, "The Vampire Diaries" season 5 star and his maybe girlfriend started their night off stopping at the Details Magazine party at 41 Ocean in Santa Monica.

Although Somerhalder and Swenson weren't all over each other they did remain close to on another throughout the entire night and the actor made sure he introduce her to everyone that came by to talk to him.

After the magazine event the pair headed to a cocktail party hosted by Treats! magazine in honor of cover girl Dylan Penn at the Beverly Hills home of James Goldstein.

A source revealed that Ian Somerhalder arrived around 11 p.m. with three other people. The insider said, "Ian got off the golf cart, and was wearing a leather jacket and his hair was tousled underneath a cap.

"As he was walking towards the steps of Club James, he was greeted by two people from the event who introduced himself. They shook hands with Ian smiled, and began ushering the group inside."

The insider went on to say, "Two of Ian's friends were in front and Ian and his date were following closely behind casually holding hands. They seemed happy, casual, and enjoying the evening."

In the past both Somerhalder and Swenson have posted pictures together on their Instagram accounts. The cute blonde is the COO of a production company called RYOT News, which the actor who plays Damon Salvatore is on the advisory board for, along with Olivia Wilde and Sophia Bush.
