We are less than a month away from the return of "Scandal" season 3 and according to the latest spoiler clip we are in for one if the most awkward lunch dates ever as Olivia and Mellie grab a bite to eat, together!

According to E! News, a sneak peek clip of the ladies was posted to the official "Scandal" Facebook page. The video is only twenty seconds long but it will leave you asking so many questions until the series returns back to ABC.

One question we have is why is the First Lady of the United States having a very public lunch with the president's mistress who she despises. Luckily for us Liv has the same question and as usual Mellie has a blunt answer.

FLOTUS jokes to Washington's fixer, "We're sharing a meal, being gal pals, braiding each other's hair, talking about boys."

However, this is clearly not the reason for the girls' only luncheon as photographers hastily snapped pictures of the women through the restaurant window.

Mellie then says, "I'm making a respectable woman out of you, Olivia." Can you say burn?

Apparently this is just the star of Mellie's bad attitude getting worse because according to cast member Darby Stanchfield, "The First Lady has some really good, steamy stuff coming up."

"Scandal" season 3 returns to ABC Thursday, February 27th at 10 p.m.
