It looks like Prince Harry has a new job! After more than three years with Britain's Army Air Corps the royal of Wales is leaving his position for a new job. Kensington Palace announced the big news on Friday, January 17th.
According to Us Weekly, palace officials revealed that the 29-year-old will be leaving his post as an Apache helicopter pilot to become a staff officer stationed in London.
His new responsibilities will consist of organizing and coordinating "significant projects and commemorative events" involving the army with his new gig beginning next week.
A source also revealed that Prince Harry has plans to have Britain host the Warrior Games.
The Palace rep said, "Prince Harry was hugely impressed by the Warrior Games which he visited in the United States in May," adding, "He said then he would be keen to see it brought to the UK and would do what he could to help."
Back in February 2012 Harry became a fully operational Apache helicopter pilot and from September 2012 through January 2013 the young royal completed an operational tour stint in Afghanistan as an Apache pilot, according to Us Weekly.
Last July, the Prince qualified for an Apache aircraft commander. The statement made on Friday revealed that Prince William's little brother will retain his rank as captain and remain in the Household Cavalry.
Lt. Col. Tom de la Rue, who commanded Queen Elizabeth II's grandson in the Army Air Corps said, "Captain Wales has reached the pinnacle of flying excellence as an Apache pilot, particularly in Afghanistan."
He added, "And, in the process, has proved to be a real inspiration to the many Army Air Corps officers and soldiers who have come to know him so well over the last two years."
Along with the big announcement emerged a clean-shaven Prince Harry who finally got rid of his beard.
The royal was sporting a scruffy look following his Walking with the Wounded trek in Antarctica last year.
The unkempt look didn't go over too well with his grandmother but he kept the look a bit longer to show off to his girlfriend Cressida Bonas.
