It looks like Prince Harry's facial hair is not a hit with Queen Elizabeth II. Apparently the monarch is "not keen" on her grandson's scruffy beard that he grew during his Walking with the Wounded trek through Antarctica last year.
According to Us Weekly, a source revealed, "Facial hair will never go down with the queen," adding, "Staff must be clean-shaven at all times."
The Sunday Express reported that while Prince William and Kate Middleton loved the beard, the Queen was quick to "let her displeasure be known."
A "royal insider" said, "She doesn't mind royal men growing beards when they are away in the armed forces or out in the wilds, like Harry was in the Antarctic, but she expects them to be clean shaven when they get home.
"Royal staff are not supposed to grow beards or moustaches, and she probably thinks it is difficult to enforce that rule when her own grandson has a beard."
It seems that the same guide lines apply for the royal family as the 87-year-old has apparently told the 29-year-old Prince to shave his beard upon returning from the French Alps where he is spending time some time with girlfriend Cressida Bonas, 24.
The paper reported that Harry will likely "shave it off soon," but he didn't want to remove it immediately because he wanted to "show it off to [girlfriend] Cressida [Bonas] first and see what she thought of it."
