It looks like actor Johnny Depp is doing everything he can to make sure his much younger girlfriend Amber Heard stays around to keep dating him.

New reports claim that the 50-year-old actor picked up close to $50,000 worth Neil Lane jewelry for the 27-year-old.

A source told Life & Style magazine, "He got her diamond drop earrings set in platinum -- about two carats total... he said they were for Christmas."

"The Lone Ranger" star didn't stop there, the eyewitness added, "He also picked up a diamond pendant necklace."

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have been dating for quite sometime now and the two made it their mission to keep their romantic life private however, the Maxim model occasionally hints at her romance with the Hollywood veteran.

She recently told Flare magazine, "It's not part of my professional life. I want to be an artist.

"I don't want to be a celebrity... You can find pictures of me [on the Internet] pumping gas, picking up dry cleaning, walking my dog, but nowhere are you going to find pictures of me hanging around at some nightclub."

She told Company magazine, "It is really hard when you spend your life living out of a suitcase. But it really does weed out superficial people -- if someone is still with you after the second movie then they're probably a good one!

"I like to trust people in general -- it's the southern girl in me."

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard met on the set of "The Rum Diary" in 2011, when the actor was still dating his longtime girlfriend Vanessa Paradis with whom he shares two children with, daughter Lily, 14, and son Jack, 11.

Meanwhile the "Paranoia" actress was still in a relationship with photographer Tasya van Ree.
