Following his stint in rehab we thought Zac Efron had everything going for him but earlier this week it was reported that he broke his jaw. His pal Adam Shankman recently revealed that the "Parkland" actor can only eat soup through a straw.

According to Us Weekly, the "The Lucky One" star had his mouth wired shut after a bad fall in his Los Angeles home last weekend.

Director, producer, choreographer and good friend Adam Shankman, who previously worked with Zac Efron on the movie "Hairspray" told the magazine he is one of the several people who is assisting the 25-year-old star as he recovers from his injury.

While at the annual GO GO Gala in Los Angeles Shankman confessed, "I have been at his house every day and I have been making him soup. He has been drinking it through his straw," adding "He has to eat through a straw on a syringe. It's horrible."

While at the November 14th event the frequent "So You Think You Can Dance" judge said that he has been making soups "from scratch" for Zac Efron. Shankman added, "He's like my little brother, has been since Hairspray," adding, "So I talk to him like a little brother, which means I give him a lot of sh-t."

Efron's honorary brother also admitted that he is quite the talent in the kitchen and has been creating some special meals for the actor with "Vitamix, baby" and also boasted about his "beautiful cream of asparagus" that he made for his good friend .

Following his tough year in rehab and now his jaw being wired shut, Shankman insisted that then actor is doing his best to make the most out of this bad situation. He revealed, "He's in great sprits. He's just like, 'Oww. It hurts.'"

When asked how the actor managed to break his jaw by simply slipping in a puddle of water, the producer admitted, "He has always been a klutz." He then joked, "This is like a perfect Zac move."

Zac Efron is set to appear in the film "That Awkward Moment" alongside Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan. However, since his nasty fall his press tour for the movie has been postponed until he is feeling a little better.

Since his fall the actor has remained silent on his Twitter account.
