It seems that following his break up with Kristen Stewart not only did Robert Pattinson lose his girlfriend but he also lost her friends as well.

Following their split Pattinson, 27, and Kristen Stewart, 23, parted ways with the actress taking all of their mutual friends with her.

Apparently the "Twilight" star is still having trouble recovering from that tough blow, according to Hollywood Life.

In an interview with GQ Italy, the actor told the publication about the downside to fame and how it is a struggle to make friends when you are a celebrity.

He said, "Fame is a fight to survive! Some people can't take it and freak out, but I can understand that."

The "Cosmopolis" star added, "With paps hiding everywhere, it's really difficult to meet new people and have new experiences."

In the beginning of his career the actor admitted that he didn't really know a lot of people when he made the move to the United States.

Pattinson explained, "When I got to the U.S. for Twilight, I only knew people who gave me a ride since I couldn't drive. They're my oldest friends."

However when he dumped Stewart he was lonely for some time. Friends close to the couple told Hollywood Life that Kristen Stewart wasn't up for sharing her friends post break up.

The source said, "Kristen has tons of friends that she can lean on, whereas most of Rob's closest friends are in England," the insider added, "Rob isn't going to hang with Kristen's friends anymore, so it's like he doesn't have Kristen in his life anymore, and that includes all of her friends."

However, that was then, these days the actor has been romantically linked to many beautiful ladies with the most recent being model, Dylan Penn.

The two have allegedly been dating as of late with reports claiming that his friends approve of his relationship.

A friend of the actor's told Life & Style that "Rob needs someone secure enough to handle the pressures fame brings."
