Did you miss "The Originals" premiere last night on the CW? If so we have a brief recap for you from the new "Vampire Diaries" spinoff show.
Klaus is back but this time he has home court advantage as he heads back to New Orleans to take the empire from his protégé Marcel. Episode 1 "Always and Forever" shows Elijah's perspective from the backdoor pilot that first aired on "The Vampire Diaries."
Klaus' brother Elijah does his best to convince their sister Rebekah to join him in New Orleans but she has come to hate Klaus so much since he staked her put her in a 90 year slumber, so she chooses to stay in Mystic Falls.
SPOILER ALERT: Claire Holt who plays Rebekah is listed as a main character for the show so sooner or later she will join her brothers.
Meanwhile, Elijah visits with the witches seeing as the reason his brother returned to New Orleans is because he was told that a witch was seeking him.
When in reality the witches need Klaus in order to over throw Marcel's reign of terror.
Sophie who is the sister of the murdered witch, Jane-Anne who was seeking Klaus makes a deal with Elijah that he will retrieve her dead body which Marcel took and convince Klaus to agree to help them rebel against him.
Elijah agrees because she has tied her life's to Hayley's who is carrying his brother's baby. At first Klaus rejects the baby and tells the witch to kill the baby and Hayley but with some help and a brief fight with Elijah he comes around.
Just Jared Jr suggest that Elijah is a very noble man and there is no way he's going to let anyone put his family in danger. This includes Hayley now.
They share several sweet moments between the two and he lets her in on the family history. He even buys the werewolf a house to live in.
In the end, all seems well until Klaus stakes his brother in the heart.
It is also revealed that Marcel has power over the witches thanks to a young witch named Davina who keep tabs on them.
