"Homeland" Season 3 premiere date is 6 days away and with episode 1 quickly approaching the cast of the hit series decided to tease fans once again with some juicy spoilers as the series nears its air date.
Stars Claire Danes and Damian Lewis gave a little insight on what to expect following last season's cliffhanger finale.
Prior to taking home the Emmy award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, Danes spoke to Access Hollywood about the upcoming season. While on the red carpet she told Billy Bush, "[It's a] really strong season."
She explained to the correspondent about how her character Carrie Mathison starts off in a bad place. She revealed, "I'm a little on the crazy sauce in the beginning of the season."
When Bush asked Emmy-nominated actor, Damien Lewis who plays Nicholas Brody, "Should you be dead?"
Lewis responded and said, "I think Brody has had a stay of execution... there were many times they could have killed Brody. I think it was because of the beautiful relationship that was working so well with this beautiful lady here, Claire, that I think [the writers] grew scared of it."
He went on to say, "I'll see how long I have left."
Meanwhile, Claire Danes doesn't want to see Lewis' character killed off the show. "I hope it will last forever," she said when referring to working with her co-star on the series.
Not only are the stars of the hit series teasing us but a new 60 second promo trailer was released in the UK for season 3.
The clip is made up of several cuts flashing between scenes featuring Danes (Carrie), Mandy Patinkin (Saul) and a shaven-headed Lewis (Brody), according to Digital Spy.
Fox 21's Bert Salke recently referred to the new season as "Homeland 2.0" and claimed that viewers can expect a different, "more emotional" show.
"Homeland" Season 3 returns to Showtime on Sunday September 29th. Check out the new UK trailer below.
