Henry Cavill is patiently waiting for his chance to star in the highly-anticipated "Justice League" movie.
The "Man of Steel," who is fresh off of a whirlwind of premieres and huge box office grossings of nearly $400 million worldwide, has some interesting thoughts on the future DC Comics film mobilizing Superman and his hero pals, according to Entertainment Weekly. The spin off could very well be a long ways off after "Man of Steel 2: Steel Harder," which the studio supposedly fast tracked for a 2014 release.
"Justice League could be great if done correctly," the British actor, 30, told ABC News. "It's a very tough one to do because the DC Comics Heroes are all god-like in their power. So in this real world universe, real-world setting we're telling our story in, it's going to be tough to achieve that. So, it won't be right away."
In fact, he added that it's okay with him because "it may take some time of building up other movies and other characters and introducing them together one way or another."
The new Hollywood star wouldn't mind putting the "S" on his chest again though it would a while.
"I think it would be great to do, but I don't think it's around the corner," he continued.
Warner Bros. has not cemented a writer or director yet though rumors put writer David S. Goyer and director Zach Snyder on board the project, according to Variety.
Before Cavill had any dreams of playing Superman, he had auditioned for some other major film roles, reported ABC. The actor had tried out for the James Bond role that Daniel Craig landed, and even for two Robert Pattinson signature roles including Edward Cullen in the "Twilight" series and Cedric Diggory in "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire."
But he harbors no ill will or hard feelings. "I don't care if I don't get the job if the best guy for the job gets it."
When he learned that Superman was in the stars for him, the actor was so distracted by playing the popular video game, "World of Warcraft" that he almost missed the call.
"I look down at the last minute and see its Zach Snyder and I dive for the phone," he playfully recalled. "...I'm going for Zach."
