Henry Cavill had humble beginnings before 'Man of Steel' catapulted him to super stardom.
Once upon a time, the now-actor was known as that "handsome British dude" who walked dogs and seated people at a West Hollywood, Calif. restaurant in 2005, according to Yahoo Movies.
While waiting for his first big role, Cavill greeted guests at a neighborhood Tapas place, where he met Giana Mucci, Yahoo Movies' visual producer. She took a liking to him and so did her "best friend," a dog named Buddy.
"Henry and Buddy adored each other," she wrote in the article. "I was simply the lucky bystander of their friendship...It was incredible to see how kind [Cavill] was with this 100-plus pound, wolf-like dog that intimidated most people."
Cavill offered a few times to walk Buddy for no fee. And one of the last times that Mucci reached out to the actor, she realized that he was on the cusp of fame.
"The next time I called Henry to see if he could walk Buddy, I didn't hear back, which seemed a little strange," she recalled. "A couple of weeks later, I got a voicemail from him apologizing for not being able to help and explaining he had been overseas auditioning for Bond...Suddenly my 'Hot Henry' was up-and-coming actor, Henry Cavill."
When she saw and interviewed Cavill at a press event for his fantasy drama, "Immortals" about a year and a half ago, he immediately recognized and hugged her. Of course, he asked about Buddy, too.
"Despite all that had changed in his life, he was still the same Henry - as humble and thoughtful as ever," she said about her impression of Cavill at the event. "...Before Henry left to do more press, he looked down, and said quickly, 'I miss Buddy.'"
She believes that Cavill is quite awesome. "I can say firsthand that Henry Cavill, a.k.a the Man of Steel, is as beautiful on the inside as he is on the outside," she added about the man who has made a positive impact on her life.
