With the phenomenal success of "Man of Steel," the world wants to know more about Henry Cavill including details about his past.

It seems that the on-screen Superman, 30, is a very demure man, who could easily ditch the limelight for some quiet R & R. In fact, he is very determined to keep some things to himself, according to HenryCavill.org.

"I'm very keen on my private life remaining private," he explained in a statement on the site. "I don't want to be too open and give everything away to reporters."

Actor Stephen Dorff, who worked with Cavill on "Immortals," agreed that the hunky British actor is quiet and a bit elusive.

"I have to say I still don't know the guy too well, and it's kind of strange," Dorff said. "I usually know more about people after I work with them. He's very quiet and to himself. He's very nice, but I got to know everyone else, but not him."

Yes, Cavill may "mum the word," but he is often praised for his humility, kindness, and, of course, killer abs. A lot of people seem to love the fact that Cavill is currently dedicated to one woman, girlfriend Gina Carano, 31.

Despite having trouble holding down relationships in the past, the Englishman might have met his match now.

"It takes a strong woman to be with me because I'm always hopping around, and not always there," he said. "It's really tough."

Before Carano, the big screen star, who is a fan of rugby and enjoys watching the History Channel, was engaged to English equestrian, Ellen Whitaker but their relationship did not last long and the engagment was called off, the site reported.

Long before that, Cavill, who has four brothers, came from a family with a strong military background. He is very grateful to his mother for raising and taking care of him and his siblings.

"My mother is such an incredibly strong woman," he said. "She raised a family of five boys extremely well. She made us all strong, loving and caring people. We all support each other. I'm really thankful to her."

When he is not bestowing such high admiration on his mom, the actor likes to go out in London, but skips the alcohol.
