Here is another addition to the never ending list of nail trends - furry velvety nails. Sported by actress Blake Lively during her wedding to Ryan Reynolds, the trend has also been seen on other fashionistas like Katy Perry and Alexa Chung.

And now the product that gives a fur effect has been launched by MUA Makeup Academy, according to the Daily Mail. The product is sprinkled over wet nail polish, which gives the nails a furry and soft effect.

"Whether you are going for a fun feel or a luxury look, these fluffy textured nails are perfect! The latest on trend nail product - Fur Effect Nail Fluff is a must have! Simply add the micro-fine fibres onto wet nail polish and leave to dry," states MUA site.

Available in five vibrant colors, the fur effect product retails at $4.71

The past year has seen a lot of quirky nail trends. From solid colors the trend moved on to color blocks, ombre, caviar, leather and even concrete nails. Nail art is fast catching up with fashionistas and they have been sporting some of the most unique designs.

Kelly Osbourne flaunted a sparkling diamond manicure during the 2012 Emmy Awards. The nail lacquer by Los Angeles-based luxury jeweler "Azature" is priced at $250,000 for a bottle and contains 267-carats of black diamonds. Her manicure was dazzling but it failed to sparkle with the fans as the "Fashion Police" co-host herself faced some policing with fans calling it a waste of money.

But one star who set a quirky and one of a kind nail trend was Katy Perry who went out of her way to show her support to President Obama. Apart from her fundraising performances, Perry also flaunted an Obama manicure. Her fingernails were painted red, white and blue and featured the Democratic donkey logo, as well as the President's face.
