Singer Katy Perry really seems to be going out of her way to support President Barrack Obama. She not only performed at the Nokia Theatre during the fundraising concert, but also made her feelings about the upcoming elections pretty clear.
While thousands of people enjoyed the concert, very few must have noticed Perry’s manicure. When the 27-year-old took to the stage to sing her hit, “Let’s Stay Together,” she flaunted an Obama manicure. And yes, it might become a trend soon. Her fingernails were painted red, white and blue and featured the Democratic donkey logo, as well as the president’s face.
Perry Tweeted a picture of her manicure and said, “I sang for President @BarackObama last night because I believe in Equal Rights.” She had Tweeted earlier, “Today I (sic) am so honored to play for the President.” The concert was also attended by Hollywood star and Obama’s good friend George Clooney, E!Online reports.
After her split with Russell Brand, Perry had embarked on a journey of spiritual happiness. She started dating on-and-off flame John Mayer, but is said to have called it quits with the star due to his wayward behavior.
The singer sported brunette locks at the event and looked svelte in an ivory dress with golden pattern. She later wrapped herself in the American flag. The show also featured Jennifer Hudson, who co-hosted the event along with Perry, according to a report by The Daily Mail. Appearances were also made by Jon Bon Jovi and Earth, Wind and Fire.
Later, Obama took to the stage and spoke about his weak debate appearance in Denver, making fun of it saying, “Everybody here is incredible professionals, they're such great friends and they just perform flawlessly night after night. I can't always say the same,” the paper reported.
