After a variety of nail trends from the black tipped French manicure and ombre to color block that took centre-stage in 2012, the New Year rings in another new trend. Nails Inc. has launched a new nail varnish that looks like concrete and is expected to become a unique nail style.
The manicure dries up to look like concrete with a similar kind of consistency and a matt finish to compliment the military trend, according to Belle News. The first shade that comes in mind when one says the word concrete is gray but the new nail polish also comes in stunning colors of red called the "marble arch," pastel green which is called "monument" and a striking blue named "Stonehenge."
"I'm always looking for a nail polish which is unique in colour and texture. Nails Inc concrete polish is sure to pave the way for new innovations in nail polish with its bold and rugged finish," The Daily Mail quoted fashion and beauty blogger Lydia Faye Jones.
The concrete manicure retails at about $19 and is likely to be a rage among fashion-lovers.
OPI Mariah Carey Collection too is gearing up to take the fashion world by storm with its sand nail polish which will hit stores in January. The collection consists of light colors like pink and lavender with a rough texture to replicate the feel of sand.
2012 saw a number of new and quirky nail trends like caviar, velvet, leather and even Katy Perry's Obama nails. And fans couldn't stop raving about Kelly Osbourne's diamond manicure worth $250,000, which she wore during the Emmy Awards. Though the trend did look stylish on her nails, the "Fashion Police" co-host was also subjected to some stern comments with people criticizing her for wasting her money instead of spending it on a good deed.
