Battle of the Strands has announced the top 12 teams. These 12 teams will be flown to Las Vegas all expenses paid to battle it out for the Battle of the Strands 2012: Xtreme Beauty Champion title. The elimination process of the competition had started Sept 13.

The Battle hosted by master colorist Kim Vo selected 22 teams and through the first round trimmed it down to 12. The 12 semi-finalists will compete to test their teamwork and creativity in areas of hair, makeup and beauty.

“The top twelve chosen teams are sure to demonstrate their innovative beauty ideas,” says Kari Kisch, Battle of the Strands Competition Chair and 2011 Judge. “It’s unbelievable the amount of creativity and ingenuity needed to create unconventional beauty and we are all excited to see these incredible stylists unveil their talents,” Kisch added.

These 12 semi- finalists will be cut down to 5 teams in this round who will compete in the final battle that is scheduled to be held at The Joint, Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Las Vegas Oct. 22.

The final event will be judged by Kandee Johnson, a Make-Up Artist and YouTube personality and designer and Project Runway alumnus Nick Verreos. The teams will be judged on the basis of quality of workmanship, creativity and level of difficulty.
Vegas Beauty Outbound will also feature the Mane, Style, and Face Forum to present educational classes to beauty professionals.

The twelve top teams are Minneapolis’ Glam Alliance, Lafayette’s Clark Russell Salon, Victorville’s Oasis Salon, Denver’s Mile High Magic, Las Vegas’ Body Spa West, Chatsworth’s Plush Salon, Lutz’s Salon DeCordova, Los Angeles’ 3 Hair Makeup, Jacksonville’s Salon San Marco, Las Vegas’ Posare Summerlin, Chicago’s Gina and Renee Team, and Omaha’s Fringes Salon.
