American Apparel has announced its participation in the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Tokyo 2013 Spring/Summer. The event will be held at the official venue Shibuya Hikarie, Oct.15.
“We wanted to do something new this year and Tokyo is a city that is very open-minded to new, creative ideas, particularly when it comes to fashion. We are honored to be one of the first brands without an appointed designer to show at a high-profile Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week like this,” Katherine Johnson, American Apparel's Japan operations manager said.
This is the brand’s seventh year of operation in Japan and it has four stores: a mobile and an online store and an e-commerce platform with Amazon JP. “Japan is an exciting market for us right now and we have a recent track record of successful collaborations. We're continuing to try new things to expand the brand and Fashion Week is the perfect place to do that,” Johnson added.
American Apparel is a clothing manufacturer based in downtown Los Angeles. The brand operates in 20 countries including the U.S, UK, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Australia, Japan and more.
