The eighth day of the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week belonged to B Michael with his Spring 2013 couture runway show. The event at Jumeirah Essex House in Midtown, saw the designe’s modern and glamorous collection.

The models showcased his range of remarkable cocktail and party dresses in rich fabrics and subtle floral tones like lilac, beige, pink, blue etc. The day time outfits were mostly in chic navy-white neutrals. A dress in color block of green and navy blue was very striking.

Growing up in Connecticut he drew inspiration from his mother’s sense of style, and has designed for big names like Oscar de La Renta and Louis Feraud to name a few. Michael launched his first couture in 1999 with help from Eleanor Lambert.

Michael’s Fall 2012 collection was also garnered a lot of appreciation and his collection which were mostly in darker shades was impeccable. He had dedicated the show to singer Whitney Houston. Michael also launched his ready to wear collection “B Michael America Red” at Macy’s according to The Miami Times. The collection is said to be a sign of his personal style.

His work is known for its style and sophistication. The spectacular color tones used by him really stand out. The designs are very eclectic, especially the evening wears collection. In soft hues and darker shades these dresses are sure to make a style statement.

During the event guests were treated to a private champagne reception in the Petit Salon. They also watched a short presentation from the designer’s charitable organization Today's Students Tomorrow's Teachers.

The show had noted guests like Norman and Suzanne Cohn, Star Jones, Susan L. Taylor, Kathryn Chenault, Tamara Tunie with husband Gregory Generet and Amy Fine Collins in the front row. Tennis star sisters Venus and Serena Williams are also often seen in the front row of B Michael’s shows and have also been spotted in the designer’s outfits on various occasions.
