Emma Corrin pays homage to Princess Diana as she debuts for the 78th Golden Globe Awards.
This is the first time that the British actress was nominated for the prestigious award-giving body for her breakthrough role as the Princess of Wales for Netflix's historical drama series "The Crown."
With the socially distanced ceremony, the 25-year-old actress virtually appeared for Golden Globes red carpet as she paid tribute to the late royal by sporting a sleek bob haircut.
Emma Corrin's Instagram featured the actress in a black and white photo wearing a MiuMiu ensemble and statement earrings.
"An honour to be here @goldenglobes, but nothing without my @thecrownnetflix family," she wrote.
Since the People's Princess is known for her excellent choice of jewelry, the blonde beauty channels the royal with her signature emerald earrings from Cartier.
According to Town and Country, this is inspired from Queen Mary's Emerald choker that Princess Diana wore during her 1985 Australia tour with her then-husband, Prince Charles.
To recall, the said earrings were given to the mother-of-two by Queen Elizabeth II during her royal wedding in 1981.
Aside from Emma Corrin's Golden Globe look, the "Pennyworth" actress had a remote photo shoot ahead of the virtual event, wearing one of Princess Diana's iconic fashion outfits.
Just like the late royal, the British actress broke the tradition and opted for unconventional style.
The 25-year-old star sports a tailored beige suit over a blue long sleeves top as she paired it with white high-cut sneakers.
Corrin also channeled her on-screen alter ego by donning in Princess Diana's haircut.
"@emmalouisecorrin photographed remotely for @goldenglobes," photographer and director Matt Sayless wrote.
Following her uncanny resemblance to the late royal, fans expressed their reaction over Twitter regarding the actress' Golden Globes' moment.
"who else agrees that Emma corrin as Princess Diana in the crown," one wrote.
Meanwhile, the second user pointed out that Princess Diana would definitely approve of her Golden Globe dress.
"Emma Corrin fave dress!!! I feel like Diana would have loved it."
Aside from her stunning dress, Emma Corrin is celebrating the monumental moment in her career as she snagged her first major award for winning Best Actress in a drama series for her portrayal as Princess Diana.
Beaming with happiness, the British actress gave an emotional speech as she thanked the cast and her fellow actors, including her on-screen partner Josh O'Connor, while calling him her "Prince Charming."
To recall, the 30-year-old actor played Prince Charles's role for two seasons of "The Crown."
Interestingly, Emma Corrin also thanked the late princess as she shared the royal's impact on her life and career.
"And most of all, thank you so much to Diana," she mentioned, adding, "You have taught me compassion and empathy beyond any measure that I could ever imagine. On behalf of everyone who remembers you so fondly and passionately in our hearts, thank you."
