Amid the recent release of her documentary "Framing Britney Spears," which revolves around the scandals and controversies she faced during the peak of her career, Britney Spears has managed to solidify her name in the music industry through her hit songs "Baby One More Time," "Sometimes" and "(You Drive Me) Crazy."

At the time, then 19-year-old blonde beauty was unstoppable. Shortly after her debut, she released her second studio album, Oops...I Did it Again back in 2000.

The fans witnessed the edgier and more mature Britney Spears through her track of the same title album.

Wearing the now-iconic catsuit, the pop princess danced, sang, and did her thing in a tight latex red bodysuit.

More than two decades later, it is still relevant in pop culture. Victoria's Secret model, Rachel Hilbert, is a famous suit complete with a head mic during Heidi Klum's 20th Annual Halloween party.

Meanwhile, former Disney star Miley Cyrus paid tribute to Spears with her modern take on the iconic costume for her "Mother's Daughter" music video.

The "Wrecking Ball" hitmaker appeared in red high cut laced boots with the ever-famous red latex long-sleeve jumpsuit, which resembled the pop princess' "Oops..I Did It Again" outfit.

Interestingly, multiple outlets revealed the secret behind one of Britney Spears' most iconic costumes.

Although it was a collaborative work, the "Womanizer" songstress was very hands-on with the whole process--from conceptualization to the design and costumes.

It was her idea to wear a red catsuit for the video. Moreover, she also requested to have her hairstyle like Elizabeth Hurley's character in "Austin Powers" with that long, voluminous, and sexy retro hair.

"I want that, but not too over-the-top because the choreography is really hard, and the song in itself is already really sexy," she told costume designer Michael Bush, as obtained by Billboard.

Last-Minute Costume

Music video director Nigel Dick shared to Bustle that the singer specifically requested a red suit. So what they did was they prepared a gorgeous bodysuit paired with red sneakers.

Unfortunately, Dick was informed the night before the actual shoot that the pop princess rejected the initial costume and "hired a guy who did wardrobe for Michael Jackson."

Interestingly, since the red sneakers got booted out, the blonde beauty opted to use her beaten up black shoes that she wore to the set that day.

Raining Buckets of Sweat

Stylist Estee Stanley revealed to Nylon that her red latex costume was a nightmare. People knew that it would be hard for her to move around since the material used was not breathable and would hold in sweat.

Moreover, Stanley recalls unzipping the "Womanizer" hitmaker after the shoot and "literally a bucket of water poured out of it."

She also shared the intense part of it was cooling her down in between her takes.

"She got really overheated when she would have to dance because something like that really traps in heat. But it was what she really thought would be the best look for [the video]," she furthered.
