The Fury, The Patriot and The OA star, Jason Isaacs, has been confirmed as the successor of Sir Patrick Stewart in "Star Trek: Discovery" in that forthcoming CBS All Access drama. It was a great news after his cast rumor these recent months.

Daily Mail reported that the 53-year-old British actor will play Captain Lorca, the captain of Federation starship USS Discovery. On Tuesday, Isaacs confirmed it by sharing an image of the captain's chair in Twitter with a caption: "Nice chair. Hope it's comfy." Besides Sir Patrick Stewart, there were actually many actors who have played the role, including William Shatner, Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew and Scott Bakula. However, Isaacs is the second British actor chosen to play it.

Isaacs has already well known in the world for his Lucius Malfoy role in the Harry Potter franchise. However, there is a rumor that his role will be overshadowed by Lieutenant Commander Rainsford, played by Sonequa Martin-Green from the popular TV series, The Walking Dead. Nevertheless, the viewers will be the ones who decide it after the show aired.

"Star Trek: Discovery" is the franchise's first project in 12-years after the cancellation of Star Trek: Enterprise in 2005. Deadline also added that the premiere has been pushed twice. The series was originally set to launch in January 2017, but then repeatedly delayed. According to CBS Chairman, Les Moonves, they are not going to rush the project, and are very careful in handling this all time favorite franchise.

From the title, it can be referred that the new series plot will take place some times in the beginning, before the events of the original Star Trek. Thus, "Star Trek: Discovery" will feature a new ship, new characters and new missions, with the same concept of peace and mutuality among diversity.

According to Variety,"Star Trek: Discovery" will be distributed with a 13-episode this summer or in early fall by CBS Studios International on Netflix in 188 countries and in Canada on Bell Media's Space Channel and CraveTV. Other stars to feature in it are Doug Jones as science officer Saru, James Frain as Spock's father Sarek, Michelle Yeoh as Captain Georgiu and Chris Obi as T'Kuvma, the Klingon leader, Terry Serpico, Maulik Pancholy, Sam Vartholomeos, Anthony Rapp, Shazad Latif and Mary Chieffo.
