Famous for being the It girls, the Hadid sisters are taking over the modeling industry. They are the idols to young people and fashion lovers. They have walked numerous runways, from New York Fashion Week to Victoria's Secret Fashion Show and been in Vogue covers, as well as the Balmain campaign.
With the same family name, and being the daughters of the already famous "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" reality star, Yolanda Hadid, it is inevitable for both of the sisters to be compared to each other. Though Gigi and Bella Hadid often appear together in public and in professional circumstances, both girls are different individuals.
Bella Hadid, 20, used to be known as the little sister of Gigi Hadid, 21. Gigi might start in the modeling industry first but as Bella grows and gets her own name in the industry, she stepped out of her sister's shadow and created her own brand.
Started when she was only two years old, Gigi Hadid modeled for Gucci for the first time. Meanwhile, Bella aspired to be an Olympian before she got Lyme disease, which was inherited from her mother, as reported by Daily Mail.
When it comes to their off-duty style, Gigi's appears to be "bonafide bombshell" as what Harper's Bazaar describes it. She knows how to rock her look with her curvy body. On the other hand, Bella's style is described by Vogue as "bad-girl minimalism", as she often wears black outfits with sleek hairstyle, giving her the street style influencer status.
Both Gigi and Bella Hadid are known for being friends with some Hollywood celebrities. Gigi is a part of Taylor Swift's squad and a close friend to Kendall Jenner. She has dated several male musicians including Cody Simpson, Joe Jonas, and her current boyfriend, the former One Direction's member, Zayn Malik. Meanwhile, her sister, Bella, is frequently seen hanging out with Hailey Baldwin and Kylie Jenner, with smaller a circle of friends. When speaking of her love-life, Bella recently broke up with her ex-boyfriend, The Weeknd and has not seen with any man so far.
Outside the fashion industry, the sisters have appeared on viral music videos. Gigi Hadid has been in several music videos such as two of Cody Simpson's' music videos, Miguel's "Simple Things", Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood", Calvin Harris' "How Deep is Your Love", and Zayn's "Pillowtalk" video. Meanwhile, Bella has seen in one music video so far, which is her former boyfriend's "In the Night".
With big fanbases that made up of younger fashion lovers, especially on the Internet, the Hadid sisters are considered as social media influencers. It cannot be denied that both Gigi and Bella gain their popularity as the It girls in the modeling industry from their influence on social media. Gigi Hadid currently has 30 million followers on Instagram and 4 million on Twitter, while Bella has 10 million on Instagram and 722 thousand on Twitter.
