Paris Hilton and DJ Deadmau5 got into a heated social media feud after the famous DJ commented on Hilton's supposed lack of deejaying skills through a Tumblr post Friday, FOX News reported.
Deadmau5 posted about Hilton on his Tumblr page where he compared her foray into professional DJing to him becoming a professional racecar driver.
"So Paris makes a billion dollars playing a CD at a club. thats great. how is this news again? Personally, i would pay about as much to see her 'perform' as Indy fans would pay to watch me struggle to get out of first gear and 20 feet off the starting grid in an Indy500 race without ending up in a wreck," Deadmau5 wrote.
He claimed that while he was a racing fan, getting suddenly involved in racing did not mean he should "just randomly show up to a racing event, proclaiming my 'super awesome driving talent" because to encroaching on the racing scene and profit from them would just be "insulting as f***."
Despite not being a professional DJ, Hilton has been raking in big bucks performing in countries like Colombia and South Korea, according to Paper magazine.
She was reportedly paid $2.7 million for a four-night a week gig at Amnesia Ibiza in August, making $347,000 an hour.
Hilton debuted as a DJ in 2012 in Brazil's Sao Paulo Pop Music Festival where she was reportedly met with boos by the crowd. She took a year off after the incident before making her U.S. debut in Hollywood, to which the Los Angeles Weekly said that even if Paris was faking it "she did a good job."
"We're not sure if she was actually DJing, but she was hitting all the right buttons at the right time," read a review by Los Angeles Weekly. "We were impressed. It was a good time."
However in Feb. 2014, Hilton claimed that she was not a DJ but a businesswoman, Daily Mail reported.
She said "this is just a small part of what I do" and called it a "fun job."
Deadmau5 wrote: "so paris, thank you... were actually not even mad youre enthusiatic about electronic music... we love that youre a part of our party. But please, get the f*ck back in your go kart."
Deadmau5 concluded: "'here's what you actually are to everyone who knows better.. ticket sales. nothing more'."
Hilton posted a tweet on her official Twitter account Friday in response to Deadmau5, saying: "I find it hilarious when others try to badmouth me in order to get attention. Sorry that I'm #Killingit while doing what I love & live for."
