Mike Colter, the lead actor in the upcoming "Halo: Nightfall" miniseries, said his character will have a significant part in the "Halo 5: Guardians" video game, Game Spot reported.

According to Colter, his character, Agent Jameson Locke, can be played in the fifth installment of the "Halo" game franchise.

"Yeah, I'm a playable character in 'Halo 5,'" he said during an interview with the UK-based magazine X-One. "Once 'Halo: The Master Chief Collections' is released, and then 'Halo 5' comes out shortly thereafter, you're basically going to be playing a game with me as the primary character."

"I'll have some cool weaponry, and some cool abilities, because by that time I'll be a Spartan IV," the actor added.

Since Master Chief is known by fans of the game as the main character of the franchise, the introduction of Agent Locke in a lead role in the miniseries came as a surprise to them.

However, Colter noted that his character will have an interesting relationship with Master Chief.

"What's not known, is whether I'm a friend or foe," he said. "The relationship between Master Chief and Jameson Locke is going to be interesting. Because, what's the outcome? Is he dead or alive?"

"Because that's usually what a manhunt comes down to, dead or alive, but you won't know what the purpose of finding Master Chief is [right away]," he added. "Or what will happen if we do find him, what condition he will be in, and where he's at mentally. But I'm sure that'll be a plot twist in 'Halo 5.'"

"Halo 5: Guardians" is scheduled to be released during the fourth quarter of 2015 and will only be available to Microsoft's Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles.

As for "Halo: Nigthfall," it will be produced by "Prometheus" director Ridley Scott and his company Scott Free Productions, according to Eurogamer. The miniseries will premiere on Nov. 11 of this year.
