Emily Kinney, who plays Beth on "The Walking Dead," has recently revealed that her character's reunion with Rick's group might not happen early in the upcoming fifth season of the hit AMC zombie show.

While the rest of the principal cast members are filming together, the 29-year-old actress-singer told Entertainment Weekly Radio (SiriusXM, channel 105) that she is working alone just like her character in the show.

"It's kind of like Beth, I am sort of isolated," said Kinney. "All this stuff this season is really exciting and really awesome and I'm having a blast, but like last season, we were separated. So towards the end of the season I didn't get to work with Lauren [Cohan], who's one of my best friends, or Steven [Yeun].

"And plus, now the show is so big we all go and travel when we have time off so we don't get to see each other as much as we used to," she added.

When asked whether the connection between her character and Norman Reedus' Daryl could become a romantic relationship at some point, she said: "I don't know. You have to wait and find out."

But the actress thinks that there are indeed feelings of some sort between the two characters. "I would say last season what you saw, there's definitely a connection, and a connection that's growing," Kinney said. "And they care about each other a lot, and so there's definitely something really special there."

Though Kinney cannot really tell what is in store for Beth and Daryl next season, she previously said that she exactly knows why a lot of fans are shipping the two characters.

"People are longing for something more than just, like, death and destruction, you know?" Kinney told Zap2it at the San Diego Comic-Con last July. "We want romance. We want music, you know? And these characters feel the same way the audience does. We don't want to just be surviving. We want something more."

She continued: "I find it so fascinating that the audience will immediately go to [love], you know, just because this happens or that happens they want that. That's what we live for, is love and romance and art."

Meanwhile, speaking at Fan Expo Canada late last month, Reedus opened up about working with Kinney and what she feels about Beth.

"It's exciting to work with Emily, She's such a good actress. She's a musician. She's a listener. She's a performer. Everything she says is so honest," Reedus said, according to Comic Book Resources.

He then added that Beth is like a "little flame of hope at some long tunnel," and he felt that during the porch scene he and Kinney shared in "Still" - the Beth and Darly-centric episode in Season 4.

"The Walking Dead" Season 5 premieres on Oct. 12 at 9:00 p.m. ET on AMC.
