Some "The Walking Dead" fans are shipping for Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Beth (Emily Kinney), while others are rooting for a romance between the fan-favorite crossbow-wielding character and Carol (Melissa McBride), but Reedus does not have any intention of choosing between Daryl's two potential love interests. In fact, the 45-year-old actor loves both female characters so much that he wants a threesome between the three characters in the upcoming fifth season of the mega-hit zombie drama.

"I'm hoping for a threesome this season," Reedus jokingly said at the San Diego Comic-Con last July, according to Variety. "Me and Beth and Carol - the trifecta!"

Reedus admitted that he gets inundated with all the shipping happening  "on an insane level," leaving him to wonder how much the writers of the show pay attention to these reactions from fans.

As for the so-called budding romance between Daryl and Beth, the "Boondocks Saints" actor said, "If Daryl had feelings for Beth, he didn't understand them ... he's like a child, like 'I don't know what this means.' But it was more 'intimate' than 'a coupling.'"

Speaking at Fan Expo Canada at Metro Toronto Convention Centre late last month, Reedus opened up about working with Kinney and what she feels about Beth. "It's exciting to work with Emily," Reedus said, according to Comic Book Resources. "She's such a good actress. She's a musician. She's a listener. She's a performer. Everything she says is so honest."

He then added that Beth is like a "little flame of hope at some long tunnel," and he felt that during the porch scene he and Kinney shared in "Still" - the Daryl and Beth-centric episode from last season.

Carol, on the other hand, has formed a close bond with Daryl since the deaths of her husband and daughter, but this bond was cut short early in Season 4 when Rick (Andrew Lincoln) banished her from the group after learning that she was the one who killed Karen and David.

When asked by TV Guide how Carol's return might affect the group especially her relationship with Daryl and Rick, Reedus said, "As far as Daryl and Carol are concerned, Carol is his girl. I think there's a common trust and respect amongst that threesome."

"We're all very close in personality types. Rick looks in Carol's eyes and knows that's a person who can pull the trigger. So there's a commonality that plays out between the three of them that makes it really interesting to act, because there's an almost telepathic thing where you go, "I know what you're thinking because I'm thinking the same s-t," Lincoln added.

"The Walking Dead" Season 5 premieres on Oct. 12 at 9:00 p.m. ET on AMC.
