Sonequa Martin-Green is soon to be a mom!

The 29-year-old actress, who is best known for her portrayal of Sasha on the hit AMC zombie drama "The Walking Dead," is expecting her first child with her husband Kenric Green, her rep confirmed to People.

Martin-Green, who also had recurring roles on CBS' legal drama "The Good Wife" and on ABC's fairy tale series "Once Upon a Time," is due in January and is having a baby boy, Us Weekly reported.

The timing of her pregnancy is good for "The Walking Dead" because filming for the upcoming fifth season is set to wrap up in November, and shooting for Season 6 is expected to kick off in April or May next year, according to Wetpaint.

"Kenric and I are beyond excited," Martin-Green told People. "There's nothing like running around fighting zombies in the Georgia heat to stay in shape while pregnant."

Martin-Green has not been so much active on social media lately. Last month, she shared a photo of her with her hubby at Emily Kinney's (Beth Greene) birthday party, and then just this Thursday, Sept. 18, she tweeted a link to People's pregnancy story with the following message, "Sorry I've been MIA lately guys, got a lot going on. I have BIG news...!"

Sonequa and Kenric first met in 2009 while auditioning for a play in Princeton, New Jersey, according to Daily Mail.

Martin-Green's Sasha is an original TV series character with no counterpart in the comic books. She first appeared on "The Walking Dead" in Season 3 Episode 8 "Made to Suffer." Her role was initially a recurring character but was upgraded to a starring role last season.

Sasha could become a major role in Season 5 or in future seasons as she might fill the comic book part of Andrea (Laurie Holden), according to Wetpaint. Andrea died in the Season 3 finale, but is still a major role in the comic books, in fact, she is Rick Grimes' (Andrew Lincoln) girlfriend.

"The Walking Dead" Season 5 premieres on Oct. 12 at 9:00pm ET/PT on AMC.
