The untimely death of Joan Rivers would not stop "Fashion Police" from airing this coming 2015.

In fact, the show is already eyeing a possible replacement to the opinionated comedian, none other than Kathy Griffin.

Although the producers of the show are eyeing a handful of other options, the 53-year-old who is friends with Rivers is the one who will most likely join the show as a panelist when it returns next year, according to Business Standard.

"Fashion Police" executives would also like to take their time in choosing who would rightfully replace Joan because they believe that waiting a bit longer before finding a replacement is the best way to go, the NY Daily News reported.

As of late, "Fashion Police" has been placed on hold after Rivers passed away earlier this month. The show, which is produced by her only daughter, Melissa, showed a 90-minute special tribute to commemorate the talk show host.

The special featured some of Rivers' most iconic and hilarious interviews and commentaries. At one point, the talk show host was featured asking supermodel Naomi Campbell if she was interested in eating Cinnabon, Technology Tell reported.

A blooper reel also showcased the 81-year-old Rivers laughing so hard at her own jokes, to the point of crying.

Following the release of the 90-minute special tribute, Melissa revealed that the president himself wrote her a letter and thanked her mother for making them laugh and think, the same publication noted.

Rivers passed away on September 4 after she was put into a medically induced coma following an unnecessary throat biopsy.

A week prior to her death, Rivers went to the Yorkville Endoscopy Clinic for a routine checkup but was subjected to a procedure she did not approve of.

Multiple sources now claim that Rivers' death may have been prevented if she was not subjected to such a procedure because the she wouldn't have suffered a cardiac arrest.
